Alaine J. Naas

Alaine J. Naas, age 93, resident of McVille, ND, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at the NCHS Hospital in McVille.

Alaine Jeanette Hanson was born May 19, 1922 in Field Township of Nelson County, ND, the daughter of Oscar W. and Marie (Simonson) Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, where she has been a lifelong member. She attended the Field Township School and Aneta High School, graduating in 1939. She then attended Mayville State Teachers College and taught for 2 years. Alaine married Irving Naas on March 12, 1943 in McVille, ND. They farmed together and Alaine was active in the farming operation and caring for her home & family. They moved to McVille in 1980. Alaine & Irving enjoyed dancing and traveling in the winter with family and friends when not attending the activities of their grandchildren. Over the years Alaine was involved with many organizations including Our Saviors Church, the choir, ladies aid, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, the Kloten Thimble Club, PTA president, 4-H leader, and she also sang in a quartet.

Alaine will be deeply missed by her husband, Irving Naas; 3 children, Barbara (Rodney) Adrian of Omaha, NE, Michael (ReJean) Naas of Fargo, ND, and Virginia (Craig) Mueller of Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren, Scott, Julie, Jennifer, Marcie, Brian, Jana, Dane, and Beth; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of NCHS for the special care they have given Alaine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lyle Hanson; and 4 infant sisters.

The Funeral Service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, rural Kloten, ND, on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND, on Thursday, December 17, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
