Allan John Mercer

Allan John Mercer, age 67, of Michigan, ND, passed away on January 30, 2025, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.  Allan was born on December 26, 1957, in Devils Lake, ND, to John and Lois Mercer. Allan was a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather. He was formerly married to Sandy Christianson. He cherished his time with family and farming and being at the family farm, a place that held special meaning for him.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing.  In recent years, he found great joy in being involved in his granddaughter Tayla’s activities.  Allan was a dedicated fan of the Sioux hockey team and the Minnesota Vikings. He is survived by his parents, John and Lois Mercer; his son, Keith Mercer, and daughter-in-law, Jamie; his granddaughter, Tayla; his sister, Mary, and her husband, Dennis Mattern; their daughter, Amy, and her husband, Eric Justice, and their children, Nicholas and Addison. Allan was preceded in death by his nephews, Michael Christianson and Steven Mattern; and his grandparents, Leslie and Sarah Mercer, and Engolf and Mae Snortland. Private family services will be held in the spring.
