Allen Stahl

Allen F. Stahl, 76, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his home.

Allen Francis Stahl was born August 30, 1936 to Francis and Alice (Stenslie) Stahl in rural Nelson County. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Pekin, ND, graduating from high school there in 1954. He continued his education at Jamestown College. In 1959 he began his career at Border States Electric in Grand Forks, ND, as a buyer and later as a salesman, until his retirement in 1998.

Allen was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing all of his life, as well as a dedicated season ticket holder and supporter of the University of North Dakota Men's Hockey program for approximately 40 years. He always enjoyed meeting and talking with people; strangers becoming friends with him in a very short time.

Allen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gale (Olsgaard) Stahl, Grand Forks, ND; mother Alice Stahl, McVille, ND; 2 sons and daughters in law, Michael & Nannette Stahl, Union, KY and Mark & Theresa Stahl, Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren, Katherine DiZio, Philadelphia, PA, Max Stahl, Philadelphia, PA, Rose Stahl, Fargo, ND, and Jesse Stahl, Fargo, ND; and his brother and sister in law Lynn & Nancy Stahl, Lakota, ND. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Stahl.

Funeral Mass for Allen will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tolna, ND with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in the St. John Ottofy Catholic Cemetery, rural Pekin, ND.
