Alpha B. Voiles

Alpha Bernice Voiles, age 99, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND.

Alpha was born June 30, 1916 in Aneta, ND, the daughter of Adolph and Minnie (Hansen) Huso. She graduated from Aneta High School in 1933, and graduated from Concordia College in 1938 with BA in English. She taught in North Dakota schools at Palermo, Sharon, and Kulm. In Minnesota, she taught in Perham for 2 years and later at Brainerd, meeting a music teacher, Dellas (Del) Voiles. Alpha and Del were married at Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta, ND on June 11, 1961, and returned to Brainerd to complete 18 years of teaching. Alpha and Del moved to Roseburg, Oregon where she taught an additional 13 years. Del died in Roseburg on March 13, 1987. She moved back to Aneta in 1994 and shared her love of Norwegian Lutheran heritage, art, music, literature, and decorating. On January 3rd, 2012 she moved to Aneta Parkview and always enjoyed visits by friends and family.

Surviving family members are her sister-in-law, Faye (Maurice) Huso, Long Beach, CA; first cousin, Margie (Torgerson) Weyland, Fargo,ND; 4 nieces, 5 nephews and many great and grand nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alpha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers Herlof, Olger, Maurice, and Thoris.

Memorial services will be Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta, ND. Visitation will be an hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in Silent Hill Cemetery, Aneta, ND
