Ann Marie Capp

Ann Marie Capp, age 75, resident of Grafton, ND, passed away peacefully after a 4 month battle with cancer on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Dakota Meadows Assisted Living Center in Larimore, ND.

Ann Marie Dougherty was born June 30, 1940 at Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Robert W. and Marie I. (Allard) Dougherty. She was raised and educated at Lakota, ND, graduating from Lakota High School in 1958. Following graduation, she attended business school. Ann Marie married Raymond Capp on June 8, 1959 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lakota. She spent her life in Minnesota and North Dakota farming with Raymond. In addition to her work as a farm wife, she also worked at Red Lake County Co-op and Friendship Incorporated. Throughout her life, Ann Marie was a member of the Catholic Churches and Altar Societies in the various towns in which she lived. Most recently she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oakwood, ND. Ann Marie was also a hospice volunteer and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, flowers, canning, and baking. Ann Marie and Raymond were married for 56 years and have attended many dances together. They also spent many winters in Texas.

Ann Marie will be deeply missed by her husband, Raymond Capp; 4 children, Jeff (Anita) of Larimore, ND, Kathy Woehl of Abilene, TX, Matthew (Cindy) of Pensacola, FL, and Dr. Patrick Capp (Carla) of Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; her mother, Marie Dougherty of Lakota, ND; brother, John Dougherty (Cheryl) of Lakota, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Dougherty; daughter-in-law, Laura Capp; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stanley and Anna Capp; brother-in-law, Ron Capp; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Capp.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton, ND, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday for 1 hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lankin, ND.
