Arnold T. Paverud

Arnold T. Paverud, age 81, resident of Lakota, ND, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Arnold Tillmer Paverud was born December 28, 1926 near Pekin, ND, the son of Thor and Annie (Quam) Paverud. He was raised and attended school in the area. Arnold enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 27, 1950. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on July 26, 1952 with the rank of Private First Class. He was a farmer in the early years of his life before he began working road construction. After a short time in construction, he moved to Lakota and pursued his interest in antique and furniture restoration. When Arnold retired he continued living in Lakota, and the last few years had been a resident of the Lakota Good Samaritan Center. He had been a member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion.

Arnold is survived by several nieces and nephews.
