Arthur Knudson

Arthur Knudson, age 91, resident of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of McVille, ND, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Arthur was born September 13, 1921 in Field Township, ND to John and Anna Knudson. He graduated from Kloten High School and attended UND. He married Olga Jerstad January 16, 1948 in Minneapolis . They farmed near Aneta and moved to the outskirts of McVille in 1977.
Besides farming, Arthur established a shop business, Harnessed Hydraulics. Above all else, he enjoyed writing and sharing his love for Christ, often telling stories through poetry.
He is survived by a sister, Mabel (Reynold) Retzlaff of Newberg, OR, his children Brian of Grand Forks, ND, Dennis (Sheila) of Southlake, TX, Kent (LuAnn) of Hamel, IL, Ardell of Casper, WY, Gene of Sanger, TX, and Connie (Nathan) Horneck of Wellington, OH. There are 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Olga, to whom he was very deeply devoted, siblings Melvin, Olga, Olaf, Albert, and Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Child Evangelism Fellowship, PO Box 348, Warrenton, MO 63383, Salvation Army, or Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Hatton Prairie Village, Hatton, ND. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services. Officiating will be Pastor Stephen Slaamodt. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kloten, ND.
