Arthur LeRoy Talle, age 92, resident of Cooperstown, ND passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown, ND.
Arthur was born February 24, 1921 in Sutton, ND the son of Isaac and Susie (Christianson) Talle. He grew up and was educated in Sutton. He entered the United States Army on August 4, 1942. Arthur served with the 740 th tank battalion also known as the "Daredevils". Arthur received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze service stars, World War II Victory Medal, Honorable Service Lapel Button and the Driver & Mechanic Badge before his Honorable Discharge on January 2, 1946. Arthur married Annabelle Neva on November 3, 1948 in Jamestown, ND. After their marriage they made their home in rural Sutton where Arthur farmed with his brother for the next four years. Arthur started working for Griggs County where he operated the blade. In 1968 they moved into Cooperstown. Arthur retired in 1983 after 31 years with the county. Arthur had one hobby, it was fishing.
Surviving members of the family are his two daughters Betty (Alan) Jackson of Cooperstown, ND and Darlene (James) Fliflet of Wimbledon, ND; 5 grandchildren Michael (Jennie) Miklas, Nichol Miklas, Kamy (Todd) Timm, Emery (Tara) Jackson and John (Sandy) Jackson; 9 great grandchildren Autumn Haugen, Andrew Miklas, Patience King, Xavier Miklas, Jacob Timm, Cooper Timm, Alyssa Jackson, Everette Jackson, and Kenneth Jackson; 1 great great granddaughter Cassandra Rose Miklas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sisters Alice, Viola, Lillian and 3 brothers Leonard, Lester and Clifford.
Funeral services for Arthur will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be two hours prior to services in the chapel. Interment will be Monday, May 20, 2013 at 3:30 PM in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
