Barbara Ann (Stich) Wall, age 88, resident of Lakota, ND, died Sunday July 26, 2026 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Barbara was born October 23, 1937, in Grand Forks, ND to Paul and Rose (Zimmer) Stich. She graduated high school in Stephen MN and went on to graduate from Aakers Business College in Grand Forks, ND. While attending, she met her future husband, Larry Mern Wall.

They were married November 8, 1958, in Dorothy, MN. Shortly after, they moved to their current farmstead near Michigan, ND where they farmed and raised their family together.

Barbara cherished time with her family and loved traveling, especially spending winters in Las Vegas, NV, and Florida. She enjoyed annual summer lake trips with her sisters and took every opportunity to visit with her siblings. Friends and family often enjoyed stopping by for kringle, bars, cookies and coffee. Above all, she had a strong faith and deep devotion to the Lord, which was evident in the way she lived her life. Her greatest love and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Barbara will be deeply missed by her children: Bart (Rhonda) Wall of Lakota, ND, Robyn (Myron) Jacobsen of Rocklake, ND, Dean (Michelle) Wall of Lakota, ND, son-in-law Mike Cookman; 12 grandchildren: Joshua (Blanca) Rock, Jared Wall, Darren Wall, Cory (Jill) Wall, Shane (Deena) Wall, Katie Wall, Nicole (Travis) Evenson, Alex (Amanda) Jacobsen, Brenna (Darren) Young, Kristin (Cody) Johnson, Michael Wall, Kylie Wall; Siblings: John (Diana) Stich, Paulette Rottink, Catherine Stich, Phyllis Audette, Peter (Kathy) Stich, Toni (Terry) Peterson; brother-in-law Richard Wall and sister-in-law Dawn (Dan) Lyste; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry; daughter Vicki Cookman; parents Rose and Paul, siblings: Leo (Jackie) Stich, Ed (Rita) Stich, Jim (Henriette) Stich, Mary (Orville) Netzer, brothers-in-law Jon Rottink and Don Audette, sisters-in-law Margaret Wall and Marcia Wall.

Barbara’s love, devotion, and spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lakota, ND with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Burial will be at the Lakota Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lakota Library or Lakota Ambulance.
