Bennie "Gunner" R. Gardner

Bennie “Gunner” Ray Gardner, 70, McVille, ND died Friday, June 30, 2017 surrounded by family and many friends at the Nelson County Health System Care Center at McVille, ND.

Gunner was born April 8, 1947, in Fargo, ND the son of Alfred Sr. and Clara (Skoberg) Gardner. He grew up in Dilworth, MN. On Sept. 11, 2004, he married Jennie Ketterl. Gunner was a welder at Northern Pacific Railroad, Case, and worked 8 years on Gunner & Jennie’s Chuckwagon. He loved hunting and fishing, and was a Minnesota Vikings fanatic. He was a Harley rider, and went to Surgis 32 years.

Gunner is survived by his wife Jennie of McVille; 2 sons Mark Gardner and Monty (fiancAC. Laura) Gardner; 2 daughters Krystal (George) Heller and Lacy (Matt) Albrecht; 11 grandchildren Kevin, Kyle, Carmen, Alexis, Cody, Kia, Paige, Katlin, Leona, Parker, and Charlotte; 2 daughters-in-law Brenda and Heidi; 2 sisters Virginia Mokler and Cindy (Sheldon) Tegtmeir; sister-in-law Rose Gardner, and many nieces and nephews.

Gunner was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Dale and Al.

A ride-in and memorial service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at McVille Dam and Recreation Area, McVille, ND.
