Betty Jean Larson

Betty Jean Wagner Larson, age 80, resident of McVille, ND, died Monday, July 13, 2015 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Betty was born April 10, 1935 to Mary (Cole) and Charles Wagner in Richardton, ND. She attended school there and later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from UND. She went to work in the hospital in McVille, ND where she met the love of her life Severin Larson. They were united in marriage on June 10, 1958 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Richardton, ND. Betty was famous for her good cooking. She enjoyed her friends in her homemakers club and the Ladies Aid at Sheyenne Lutheran. She was also a member of the Ole Semling American Legion Auxiliary of McVille, ND.

Betty is survived by 2 sons Charles (Scotti) Larson and Thomas Larson both of McVille, ND; 3 granddaughters, Erin of Grand Forks and Danielle & Kelly of McVille; 2 great grandchildren Hayley & Harley Rosewaren of McVille; 3 brothers Bob (Marcia) Wagner of Littleton, CO, Bill (Leone) Wagner of Hazen, ND, and David (Tom Picolli) Wagner of Manasquan, NJ; sister Carol Elkins of McVille; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Severin; daughter Dawn Becherl; and niece Karen Elkins.

The Memorial Service for Betty will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Sheyenne Lutheran Church Cemetery. Honors will be provided by McVille American Legion Auxiliary, Ole Semling Unit 135.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Altru Cancer Center of Grand Forks.
