Beulah Burkland

Beulah (Ensrud) Burkland, age 92, of McVille, ND, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Beulah was born April 16, 1921 in rural Pekin to John and Ida (Brekken) Ensrud. After graduating from Pekin H.S. she worked for Cooper Studio in Grand Forks. On Dec. 20, 1944 , Beulah married Sidney Burkland and they began their life together on the family farm near McVille. Beulah and Sid loved to dance and play cards with family and friends. They were active members of Center Lutheran before joining McVille Lutheran in 1994. Beulah worked for many years as a CNA for the Care Center in McVille.

Beulah is survived by her son Jeff (Carol) Burkland, Grand Forks, ND; daughter Beth (Blair) Halvorson, Barnesville, MN; sister Orpha Tverstol, Warren, MN; grandchildren Christopher Harned, Shannon (Derick) Converse, Darren (fiancAC. Naomi) Burkland, Dylan Burkland, David Clement, Eric Clement, Samantha (Dave) Primus, Jacob Clement, Braden (Carrie) Halvorson, Kyle Halvorson, Jared Halvorson, and Alec Halvorson; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings Juel, Manser, Conrad, Marie; and grandson Chad Burkland.

Memorial services for Beulah will be Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 1 p.m. at McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services in the church. Spring interment will be in Center Cemetery, rural McVille, ND.
