Blake A. Hanson (Oyate Ahupe)

Blake A. Hanson, age 21, resident of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Tolna, ND, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Blake Anthony Hanson was born September 14, 2002, in Corpus Christi, TX, the son of Spencer Hanson and Sophia Kleinheksel.  In 2007, Samantha Hanson came into his life and around that time they moved to Tolna, ND where he grew up and attended Dakota Prairie schools.  During his high school years, he participated in almost everything that was available.  He looked forward to attending youth group with friends and, also, continued bible study in college with Chi Alpha.  He joined the North Dakota Leadership Seminar and was voted to be the emcee at their upcoming summer excursion.  He had chosen to attend UND to become an elementary teacher, and he would have been one of the best.  His students at Lake Agassiz adored him and called him “Mr. Handsome”.  He had a love for traveling and hanging out with friends and family.  He was a friend to anyone and everyone, and if you weren’t already a hugger, you were definitely going to become one around Blake.  He had a smile for everyone.  “If sunshine were a person, it would be Blake!”

He will be deeply missed by his parents, Spencer and Samantha Hanson of Tolna, ND, Sophia and Shaun Kleinheksel of Tucson, AZ; and brothers, Dresyn and Beckett Hanson, Peyton Abraham and Liam Kleinheksel; and stepbrothers, Matthew and Tyler Kleinheksel; grandparents, Mervin Hanson and Jan Hanson, Charlene LaFontaine, Dean and Connie Abraham, Mike and Brenda Ceroll, and Gary and Cathy Kleinheksel; a special cousin, Dacey Veflin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Blake's Life will be held at the Lakewood Park Bible Camp Chapel, 220 Woodland Avenue, Devils Lake, ND, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.

In honor of Blake, please wear something with orange in it.
