Bob Lamb, age 84, resident of Michigan, ND, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND.
Robert Joseph Lamb was born July 7, 1928 at Michigan, ND, the son of Joseph W. and Emma (Westensee) Lamb. He was raised and attended school there, graduating in 1947. He then served in the U.S. Army 147 th Viking Infantry during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and returned home to work in the family business, Joe Lamb's Oil & Supply as well as the Kite Café. He loved people and he loved selling Case tractors and Oldsmobile cars. His Catholic faith was of great importance to him. Bob married Pat Sloan on December 28, 1954 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lakota. Bob was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, and St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church. He was a professional camper and loved to take his grandchildren camping.
Bob will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 57 years, Pat Lamb of Michigan; 6 children, Joe E. (Vicki) Lamb of Devils Lake, ND, Carrie (Buck) Kasowski of Grand Forks, ND, Tom (Mary) Lamb of Carbondale, CO, Tony (Lynn) Lamb of Michigan, ND, Maureen (Don) Bertsch of Starkweather, ND, and Don (LeAnn) Lamb of Rapid City, SD; 17 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Jean Ann Kouba of Michigan, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister, Betty Schwan.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church of Michigan on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Michigan Cemetery . Visitation will be held at the Church on Friday, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Vigil & Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m.
