Brent L. Northagen, age 35, resident of Fordville, ND, died Monday, March 6, 2017.

Brent LeRoy Northagen was born March 18, 1981 in Grafton, ND, the son of LeRoy and Jo (Pastorek) Northagen. Brent lived in many places, as his father was in the military. They lived at the Minot Air Force Base from his birth until 1986. They then lived in Florida until 1990, when they moved to Fordville. Brent attended the Fordville-Lankin Public School, where he enjoyed participating in sports, primarily football. He graduated from there in 1999. He then attended college and worked until joining the military. Brent enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 27, 2004 in Fargo, and was honorably discharged on February 17, 2006 in New York. He remained in New York until moving back to North Dakota in 2009. He lived in Fargo, where he worked as a welder, before moving to Fordville a few years ago. Brent enjoyed sales, so he began working at First National Pawn in Grand Forks. He thoroughly loved all children, especially his precious niece & nephews.

Brent will be deeply missed by his parents, LeRoy & Jo Northagen of Fordville; a brother, Josh (Heather Martinson) Northagen of St. Thomas, ND and his 2 children, Zander & Ashton; a sister, Megan (Josh) Buee of Berthold, ND and their daughter, Sawyer; his grandmother, Joyce Northagen of Grafton, ND; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley & Mabel Pastorek and Melvin Northagen.

The Funeral Service for Brent will be held at the Fordville Lutheran Church, Fordville, ND, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Tim Faust. The organist will be Sylvia Madson and the soloist will be Chantell Aaker. Interment will be private at the ND State Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND. The casketbearers will be Marcus Northagen, Andy Daley, Drew Fellman, Lukas Pastorek, Ryan Pastorek, and Nathan Northagen. Military Honors will be conducted by the ND Military Funeral Honors Team. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
