Carol Mae Flaagan

Carol Mae Flaagan, age 81, of Tolna, ND died Friday, June 24, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Carol was born May 14, 1935 the daughter of Norman and Hilma (Johnson) Johnson. She grew up in the Tolna area and graduated from Tolna High School in 1953. Carol married Dale Flaagan on April 7, 1954 at American Lutheran Church in Tolna, ND. The couple lived and worked on the family farm southwest of Tolna where they raised their family.

Carol was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. She loved being a part of all her kids and grandkids sports and activities. She enjoyed sing-a-longs with neighbors and family. She was known for her baking, and enjoyed music and reading. Carol was a life-long member of Sigdal Lutheran Church and WELCA.

Carol is survived by her husband Dale Flaagan of Tolna, ND; 4 sons: Kevin of Beulah, ND, Brian of Centennial, CO, Jaime (Therese) of Eagle, CO, and Shane (Shelly) of Tolna, ND; 8 grandchildren: Reid Flaagan, Drew Flaagan, Stephanie (Steve) Schrader, Dalton Flaagan, Kaylee Flaagan, Garret Flaagan, Dillon Flaagan, and Jayden Flaagan; great grandchild Lilly Schrader, 2 sisters: Lois Weed of Devils Lake, ND and Alice Bernice (Lee) Brotherton of Roseville, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold Johnson, sister Barbara Walter, daughter-in-law Bonnie Flaagan, and an infant son Gary.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sigdal Lutheran Church, rural Tolna, ND. Visitation will be Monday, June 27, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sigdal Lutheran Church. Interment will be at a later date in Sigdal Church Cemetery.
