Carol J. Wigen

Carol J. Wigen, age 73, resident of Lakota, ND, died Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota.

Carol Jean Robinson was born October 6, 1943 in Robbinsdale, MN, the daughter of Clarke F. Robinson Sr. and Dorothy Solberg. She was raised and graduated from high school in Robbinsdale. She worked at TCF Bank in downtown Minneapolis before she met and married Marvin Wigen on June 24, 1972. The couple then moved to Lakota where they made their home and raised their family. Carol then began working outside of their home. She was a cook at the Lakota School and worked in the American Family Insurance office in Lakota. Most recently, Carol worked in the laundry department at the Good Samaritan Home until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and served on the Lakota City Library Board for many years. She was also a member of the Homemaker Club and enjoyed playing Bunco, sewing, and knitting.

Carol will be deeply missed by her husband, Marvin Wigen of Lakota; 3 children, David Wigen & his wife Jenny of Lakota, Danny Wigen of Minot, ND, and Jennifer Taylor & her husband Matthew of Seattle, WA; and 2 granddaughters, Ava and Ivy Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Clarke F. “Butch” Robinson Jr.

The Memorial Service for Carol will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Tedd Rieke. The organist will be Karen Fowler and the soloist will be Jason Flom. Interment will be in the spring at Crystal Lake Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lakota City Library.
