Catherine "Cathy" Ann Swenson

Catherine “Cathy” Ann Swenson, 71, McVille, ND, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Cathy was born on November 23, 1953 to Kenneth and Alma (Groven) Swenson. She grew up on a farm near Finley, North Dakota. She attended school in Finley and graduated in 1971. After graduation she attended North Dakota State School of Science earning a degree as an LPN. She went on to earn a degree as an RN from the University of Mary. She worked in several hospitals including Nelson County Heath System in McVille as CEO. After retirement, she was involved with the local library.
Cathy was a hard worker and took her job seriously. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and traveling with friends. She liked to go fishing. She was always the first one to help others.
Cathy leaves to mourn her: uncle, Lloyd Rud, Ellijay, GA; aunt, Betty Johnson, Arthur, ND; uncle, Zane (MaryBeth) Rud, Cooperstown, ND; many nieces and nephews; and many friends and co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Alma; brother, Kenneth Jr. (Butch) Swenson; sister-in-law, Barbara Swenson; and sister, Marilyn Poole.
A private family graveside service will be held at Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND.
