Charles "Chuck" Mclean

Charles Allen “Chuck” McLean, of Petersburg, ND passed away on April 9, 2017 at age 70 after a long and courageous battle with illnesses resulting from Agent Orange exposure.

Chuck was the youngest child of Raymond and Clara (Swartz) McLean, born on June 22, 1946 in Fordville, North Dakota. Chuck, at age 22, joined the Army serving in the Vietnam War from 1966-1967. He met Lana Foss Martinson and they were married on June 24, 1978. Chuck was passionate about horseback riding and loved to spend his time with the horses. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father, brother, son, and nephews. Chuck was very passionate about motorcycles and was State President of the In Country Vietnam MC, and a member of the American Legion Riders, the American Legion, DAB, and the VVA.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Lana; son, Brent and companion Kassi; daughter, Jody (Jon) Sanderson; granddaughters, Jaden and Nicole Sanderson, and Maddie Fortman; sisters-in-law, Myrna (Herman) Deleon, LaMae (Al) Bergan, LuAnn (Ken) Regan, Paula (Ken) Mantel; nieces and nephews, Mike (Amy) McLean, Mark (Michelle) McLean, Marie (Tim) Pederson, Austin (Kendall) Regan, Jordan Regan, Alissa (Mike) Coddington, Victoria and Elizabeth Mantel; great nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Angie) Mayo, Tanner McLean, Maggie (Kyle) Mallory, Jake McLean, Alex (Anna) McLean, Josh (Morgan) Mayo, Sydney McLean, Paul and Elaina Coddington.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Clara; his brother, Marlin; in-laws, Palmer and Lois Foss; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Funeral Service for Charles will be held at the Petersburg Lutheran Church, Petersburg, ND, on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Petersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Friday, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
