Chuck Arndt

Charles "Chuck" Arndt, age 74, resident of Cooperstown , ND passed away Friday, June 6, 2008 at his home near Cooperstown . Chuck was born December 3, 1933 in Cooperstown , ND the son of Bert and Lucille (Tromsness) Arndt. He grew up and attended country schools near Jessie , ND . In 1947 he moved with his family to Minnesota . Chuck entered the United States Army and served with the 101 st Army Airborne during the Korean War. Chuck returned from the Army and spent time in both North Dakota and Minnesota before settling in Washington . He married Ginny Allen in November of 1964 at Seattle , WA . Chuck was a watch lieutenant for 25 years at the Washington State Reformatory. He retired in 1993 and the couple moved back to Cooperstown in 1996. Chuck enjoyed woodworking and his favorite pastime was playing cards.

Chuck will be missed and remembered by his wife Ginny of Cooperstown, ND; 2 daughters Michelle (Frank) Wild of Onamia, MN and Vicki (Kevin) Wagner of Gold Bar, WA; son Bert Arndt of Pocatello, ID, 3 step sons Aaron (Karen) Patraw of Monroe, WA, Jason (Wendy Davis) Patraw of Hannaford, ND and Leeon (C.J.) Patraw of Hillsboro, ND; step daughter Veronica Patraw of Cooperstown, ND; 2 brothers Jerry Arndt of Brooklyn Center, MN and Jerome (Carol) Arndt of Everett, WA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Chuck will be Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 3:00 PM in West Prairie Lutheran Church , rural Binford , ND . Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Officiating will be Pastor Stephen Scheel. Organist will be Donna Ronningen and soloist will be Arnold Saxberg. Casketbearers will be Jason Patraw, Leeon Patraw, Cordero Patraw, Sergio Daza-Miranda, Ron Eggermont, Cliff Eggermont and Shawn Eggermont. Interment will be at the Hero Cemetery near Cooperstown , ND June 10, 2008 at 5:30 PM . Military Honors by the Gordon Lindgren Post #143 of Cooperstown . Arrangements with the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.
