Clarice Elaine Bohle (Rusten), age 102, of Aneta, ND, died Thursday, October 31, 2024 in Aneta, ND.
Clarice was born June 3, 1922, to Henry and Anna (Bjorhus) Rusten in Lenora Township, Griggs County, ND. She grew up and attended school in Aneta, ND. Clarice attended Mayville State Teachers College and taught at schools in Finley, Michigan, and Pekin, ND. She joined her sister, Evelyn, in Los Angeles in 1944, where she worked for American Trust Bank as a teller. The two sisters moved to Santa Rosa, CA in the late 1940’s, and were soon joined by their parents who had retired from farming. Clarice married Albert F. Bohle on March 1, 1959 in Santa Rosa, CA. She was very active with their church. After the family moved to Modesto, CA in 1972, she volunteered at Doctor’s Hospital in Modesto until 2015 and was co-manager of the hospital gift shop. After her husband died in 2017, she returned to Aneta to be close to family. She was a member of Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta.
Clarice is survived by her daughter, Sandi Bohle of Aneta, ND; a brother, Henry Rusten Jr. of Turner, OR; sister-in-law, Judy Rusten of Aneta, ND; nieces, Angie (Stuart) Gullicks of Finley, ND, Pam Mahan of Aneta, ND, Jennifer (Tim) Barrett of Davis, CA, and Heidi (David) Langstraat of Eugene, OR; nephews, Tim (Jennifer) Rusten of Aneta, ND, Doug (Mary) Mahan of Aneta, ND, Jeff (Marlene) Mahan of Moorhead, MN, Andrew (Becky) Rusten of Yuma, AZ, Max (Molly) Hoberg of Eureka, CA, and Eric (Laurie) Hoberg of Madison, WI; and she was a great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Albert F. Bohle; her parents, Henry and Anna Rusten; brother, Allen (Judy) Rusten; sisters, Evelyn (Emmit) Mahan and Arlene (James) Lee; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Hank) Rusten; and nephew, Scott Rusten.
The Funeral Service will be held at Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta, ND, on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Ottawa Church Cemetery and Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma, CA. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
