Clayton Donohue

Clayton Donohue, age 78, resident of Binford, ND died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Nelson County Health System - Care Center in McVille, ND.

Clayton was born December 13, 1933 in Nelson County, ND the son of Walter and Lydia (Liska) Donohue. He grew up and attended school in Forde and Dayton Townships. After school he went to work on the family farm near Tolna, ND. In 1960 Clayton worked in the oil fields of Montana. He then returned to the family farm. Clayton married Joan Acker on October 2, 1971 in Minneapolis, MN. After their marriage the couple moved to Tolna, ND where they lived for a couple of years before buying a farm in rural Binford, ND in 1976. Joan passed away on December 3, 2005.

Clayton was a member of the New Rockford Steam Thrashers, the Pekin Elevator Board, and the Forde Township Board. He also enjoyed restoring old tractors.

Clayton is survived by 7 brothers, Larry (Annette) Donohue, Donald (Barbara) Donohue, Michael (Sonja) Donohue, Paul (Charlene) Donohue, Cornell (Cheryl) Donohue, Steven (Jackie) Donohue, and Adlai (Juanita) Donohue; a sister, Laura Heintz; and many nieces and nephews.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joan; sister Delores (Charles) Haas, infant sister Mary Alice Donohue; and 2 nephews, Alan and Curtis Haas.

Funeral Services for Clayton will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the St. Joseph 's Catholic Church, Tolna, ND. Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2012 from 4PM to 7PM with a 7PM Vigil Service at the St. Joseph 's Catholic Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Tolna Cemetery.
