Dale W. Quanbeck

Dale Wesley Quanbeck, age 84, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of McVille, ND, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Dale was born July 3, 1931 in McVille, ND and grew up along the Sheyenne River Valley. After graduating from McVille High School in 1949, he attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis. In 1953 he joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. On Sept. 3, 1955, he married Darlene Sateren near McVille. Dale worked as both a farmer and carpenter throughout his life. Darlene passed away in 1997. On June 2, 2001, Dale married Jeanette Krogstad near Reynolds, ND. They lived near McVille until 2014 when they moved to Grand Forks.

Dale had a passion for collecting Indian artifacts and volunteering his time at the Pioneer Village near Stump Lake. Dale was a member of New Luther Valley Church in McVille, ND and served his Lord faithfully throughout his life.

Dale is survived by his wife Jeanette; 4 daughters, Audrey (Tim) Zejdlik, Grand Forks, ND, Brenda (Gary) Packer, Wadena, MN, Debra (Jerry) Roehrich, Tolna, ND, Ellen (Ben) Unseth, Camarillo, CA, son, Aaron (Kristine) Quanbeck, Glyndon, MN; 2 step-daughters, Karen Krogstad, Creston, IA and Kim Krogstad, Oshkosh, WI; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife Darlene; 2 sisters, Rona and Donna; grandson Spencer Unseth; and son-in-law Mel Olauson.

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 25, 2016 at 1 p.m. in New Luther Valley Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6 p.m. in New Luther Valley Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Visitation will continue at 12 p.m. Monday in the church prior to the service. Military honors by Ole Semling American Legion Post # 135, McVille, ND. Interment will be in the spring at New Luther Valley Cemetery near McVille, ND.
