Daniel Hejlik

Daniel L. Hejlik, age 61, resident of Petersburg, ND, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Daniel Lynn Hejlik was born January 5, 1952 in Grand Forks. He was raised and educated there, graduating from Central High School in 1970. During high school, Dan began working at Kinney Shoe Store in Grand Forks, and then moved to Griffith 's Shoe Department in Grand Forks. It was there that he was recognized to be a superior performer by Wohl Shoe Corporation. After graduation he was transferred by Wohl to Madison, WI, where he earned his first managerial position. Quickly climbing the corporate ladder, he held many positions until finally becoming divisional merchandise manager in St. Louis, MO. He later became vice-president of CTA America, a shoe corporation he was instrumental in establishing. Dan loved to spend his time golfing, grilling, and enjoying the company of his 2 faithful companion dogs, Latte and Biscotti.

Dan is survived by his sister, Eileen Henschel of Petersburg, ND; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the spring at Memorial Park Cemetery of Grand Forks, ND.
