David Lemm

David Henry Lemm died in McVille, North Dakota on November 4, 2016.

He is survived by his wife Patricia of McVille, Sons Nathan (Sarah) of Farmington MN, Tony of Roseville, and Jordan (Angela) of Chanhassen, and grandchildren Camile, Kaeden, Mae, Ezra, and Gus, as well as eight brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Omar and Verdena of Princeton MN, and his older brother Bruce.

David was born on June 30th 1950 in Minneapolis. He lived in the Twin Cities until the age of 12 when the family moved to a farm in rural Princeton MN. He attended Princeton High School, where he met and married Patricia Deglman on April 25 1970, and soon after began their family, raising their three boys in rural Princeton. His children remember him as a strong, creative figure who always preached doing the right thing and always with integrity.

David was known for his many passions, including cooking, writing, working with kids, playing guitar and harmonica, inventing, and did we mention cooking? He was very proud of never using a recipe. He could always be found with a book, or a chef’s knife, reading or cooking something delicious. He passed on his love of cooking to his sons. He worked with troubled youth at Bar None Boy’s Ranch in St. Francis MN for many years, providing discipline and tough love. Later in his career, he drove bus for the Princeton School district. Many may not know that David was a prolific writer of fiction and poetry, spending countless hours penning his thoughts, even having selected works published. He was also very proud that he had built his own log cabin by hand in the 1980’s.

In 2004 David and Patricia moved to McVille North Dakota, where he fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening his own restaurant, and enjoying small town life.

A visitation will be held from 5-7PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton. A funeral service will be held at 2:30PM, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Christ Our Light Catholic Parish - North Campus, Princeton with visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will be in St. Edward’s Catholic Cemetery, Princeton.
