Delores Hoyt

Delores Ann Hoyt, age 77, resident of Pekin, ND passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at her home near Pekin.

Delores was born August 30, 1937 at McHenry, ND to Hartvig and Ida (Magnuson) Leean. She was baptized October 31, 1937, and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith June 29, 1952 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McHenry, ND. She attended schools at McHenry, ND and Cooperstown, ND. Delores married Walter Raymond Hoyt on August 7, 1952 at McHenry, ND where they lived and farmed until they moved to the Pekin area in 1962 where they continued to farm. Delores was a Sunday School teacher and a member of Our Savior's Choir and Our Savior's W.E.L.C.A. Delores loved traveling, music, dancing, quilting, cooking, canning, gardening, flowers, and birds. She really loved entertaining family and friends and a good card game. Delores and Walter did everything together.

Delores will be missed and remembered by her husband Walter R. Hoyt of 61 years; children: Mario (Mary Murray), Marlin, Lonnie, Nola (Dave Robson), and Colleen; 5 grandchildren: David and Michael Hoeft, Allen Hoyt, and Chris and Brian Robson; 3 great-grandchildren: Andrew, Jacob, and Owen Hoeft; sister Carol (Harry) Johnson; brother Gary (Vivian) Leean; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ione and Doc Oien.

Funeral services for Delores will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 2:00 pm in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McHenry, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 beginning at 4 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McHenry, ND. Spring interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry, ND.
