Delores Johnson was called Home on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Cooperstown Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was known as a hard working caregiver and a lady who would light up a room with her smile. Her braveness was amazing.
She was born on October 14, 1932 to Lars and Hilda Harvey in a rural Hannaford farmstead. Delores married the love of her life and soul-mate Clifford on June 16, 1956 and to this union three children were blessed. Clifford passed away May 25, 1973. Being a proud and supportive mother she sought work outside the home by working a short time at the Johnson Store before starting her joyful and rewarding career of waitressing at Andy's Cafe for 24+ years. Lastly, she gave of her time, care, and concern to the Lutheran Social Services ND Senior Companion Program.
Delores is survived by her son, Jerry (Karen) Johnson; daughters, Laurie (Bruce) Hazard and Kimberly (Kent) Dick all of Cooperstown; six cherished grandchildren, Sarah (TJ) Rooney, Emilee Johnson, Nicholas Hazard, Nathan Hazard, Brandon Dick, and Amanda (Jason) Keating; three great-grandchildren, Kenady, Macy, and Kade Rooney; two brothers, Sidney (Beatrice) Harvey and Leland Harvey; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifford; two brothers, Kenneth Harvey and Leonard Harvey.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cooperstown, ND. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.
