Diana M. Pawlikowski, age 54, resident of Lakota, ND, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Diana Marie Mayer was born January 30, 1958 at Michigan, ND, the daughter of Richard and Blanche (Pic) Mayer. She was raised on the family farm near Whitman, ND, attended Whitman Elementary School, and Michigan High School, graduating in 1976. She then attended Aaker's Business College. Diana married Edwin Pawlikowski on June 24, 1978 in Michigan. They lived in various locations due to Ed serving in the U.S. Air Force. They lived at Park River, Grand Forks, West Fargo, Washington, Germany, Utah, and Emerado, ND, before moving to Lakota in 2005. Diana loved to play cards and visit with the elderly. She had a desire to help people in any way she could. She was very generous and selfless with her time and talent for others. She especially loved babysitting for her nieces and nephews. Diana had many hobbies which include embroidery, cross stitch, crocheting, gardening, cooking & baking, having rummage sales, and loved collecting things, especially tea pots. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Lakota, the Whitman Centennial Committee, several card groups in the Lakota area, and the Bunco club.

Diana will be sorely missed by her husband, Edwin Pawlikowski of Lakota; 5 siblings, David (Barb) Maresh of Alexandria, MN, Deb (Allan) Anderson, Donna Mayer, and Dale Mayer, all of Michigan, ND, and Doris (Randy) Karas of Lakota; 5 nieces & nephews, Mike (Amber) Minor, Melissa (Chad) Rader, Mike (Sarah) Anderson, Lisa Karas, and Adam Karas; 5 great nieces & nephews, Kristen McDuffie, Axel & Zane Anderson, and Gavin & Hayden Rader; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Peter Horn. Music will be provided by Jason Flom and Karen Fowler. An Honor Guard will be accorded by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rundell-Holicky American Legion Post #21. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Bechyne, rural Lankin, ND. The honorary bearers will be Melissa & Chad Rader, Mike & Sarah Anderson, Lisa Karas, Adam Karas, Axel & Zane Anderson, and Gavin & Hayden Rader. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Lakota Ambulance Service or the Bechyne Cross Fund.
