Dick Leith, age 72, resident of Fargo, ND was granted his angel wings on April 24, 2017 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND. He died peacefully surrounded by his family.

Dick was born January 3, 1945 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Orval and Eleanor (Conn) Leith. Dick attended grade school in Bartlett, ND, high school in Lakota, ND, and finished off his education where he graduated from Wahpeton State School of Science with a plumbing diploma. After receiving his diploma, he moved to Grand Forks where he met Joan Gartner. Dick and Joan were married on July 27, 1968. They made their home in Grand Forks, Langdon, and Cavalier, before settling in Lakota where they raised their 3 children. He opened up Leith Plumbing and Heating in Cavalier. While in Lakota, Dick opened up D&J Laundry Mat and Carwash, farmed with Bagne Farms, and purchased The Four Seasons Lounge and Steak House. Dick and Joan moved to Fargo, ND in 2003 where he lived out his retirement doing what he loved the most, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Dick enjoyed camping, woodworking, and drinking coffee with friends. He was very devoted to spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren. Most of all, Dick enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sports and activities. He was an active member of the Shriners and Masons.

Dick will be deeply missed by his wife, Joan, Fargo, ND; daughters, Pamela Sherod, Fargo, ND, Alyssa (Kevin) Anderson, West Fargo, ND; son, Brent (Heather) Leith, West Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Brody Sherod, Morgan and Dawson Anderson, Rylie and Kaleb Leith; brothers, Donovan (Ruby), Lakota, ND, Doug (Janet), Park River, ND, Darrel (Esther) Leith, Lakota, ND; sister, Delores Glenz, Devils Lake, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Jerry Gartner, and infant nephew, Kitch Michael Gartner.

The Funeral Service will be held at Lakota Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Lakota Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Friday, April 28, 2017 starting at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the Service.
