Dolar Laplant

Dolar LaPlant, age 76, resident of Binford, ND passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Cooperstown Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Dolar was born on November 23, 1935 on the family farm near Jessie, ND the son of Louis and Helen (Retzlaff) LaPlant. He grew up and attended school in Jessie and Kingsley Township. Dolar served in the United States Army from December 1957 to November 1959. He married Martha Adrian on October 19, 1963 in Binford. After their marriage they lived and farmed in rural Binford.

Dolar was a member of the Jonas A. Helland Legion Post #111. He was a 4-H leader for 17 years in Kingsley Township and also the Township clerk for 44 years. He served on the Tri-County Electric and later Northern Plains Electric co-op, along with several other local co-ops.

Dolar will be missed and remembered by his wife Martha of Binford, ND; his daughter Darcy (Randy) Dewald of Carrington, ND; his son Collin (Luciene) LaPlant of Binford, ND; his grandchildren Gavin, Cord, Ryan and Jordan; his sisters Beverly (Bernie) Kelly of Glendive, MT, Sharon (Robert) Fors of Larimore, ND, Joanne (Blaine) Burleson of Glendive, MT, and Darlene Quam of Tolna, ND; his brother Donald LaPlant of Bozeman, MT; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolar was preceded in death by his parents and brother Darrel.

Funeral services for Dolar will be Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Binford, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 4 PM to 8 PM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel and continue one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Binford Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the local ambulance services or the charity of your choice.
