Dolores L. Uriell

Dolores L. Uriell, age 94, resident of Lakota, ND, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND.

Dolores Louise Vettel was born September 26, 1921 in Caledonia, ND, the daughter of John and Mary (Mueller) Vettel. She was raised on the family farm near Hillsboro, ND and graduated from Hillsboro High School. Dolores married Lloyd Uriell on June 11, 1947 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hillsboro. They made their home on the Uriell family homestead near Lakota. They farmed and raised their 8 children together. Lloyd died May 14, 2002. For the past few years Dolores lived in Lakota at Prairie Rose. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Altar Society. The most important part of her life was her family. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, embroidery, and bird watching.

Dolores will be missed by her 3 daughters, Patricia (Steve) Schild of Burdick, KS, Delaphine (Tom) Streifel of Kodiak, AK, and Margaret (Victor) Lunski of Fargo, ND; 5 sons, Ed (Denise) Uriell of Lakota, Jim (Charlette) Uriell of Wahpeton, ND, Joe (Julie) Uriell of Shawnee, KS, Gerald Uriell of Park River, ND, and Bob Uriell of Victoria, MN; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Neustrom and Bradly Uriell; 3 sisters, Bertha Wright, Marcella Vettel, and Geraldine Yanish; and 2 brothers, Alex Vettel and Jerome Vettel.

The Funeral Mass for Dolores will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church of Lakota on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the spring at the Lakota Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Church on Friday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary & Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
