Donna Jacobson

Donna Marie Jacobson, 87 of McVille, ND, formerly Binford, ND passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Nelson County Care Center, McVille, ND.
Donna was born on June 4, 1927 in her family's log home rural McVille, ND. Daughter of Arthur and Wilma (Farup) Quanbeck. She was raised and attended grade school and High School in McVille, ND. She attended 1 year at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN and completed her teaching degree from Mayville College. She taught school in Fertile MN, Hoople, ND, New Rockford, ND and Binford, ND. She married Donald Jacobson, June 8, 1957 at New Luther Valley Free Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. The couple made their home near Red Willow Lake, Binford, ND where they farmed.
Donna was an active member of Bethany Free Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School, Ladies Aid, and was member of the church's String band. Donna was a member of the Willow Homemakers group for many years, Griggs County Right to Life and she worked as a cook for Red Willow Bible Camp for several years. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing various crafts.
She is survived by: Son, Arden (Marge) Jacobson of Coon Rapids MN; Daughter, Wanda Jacobson of Brooklyn Park, MN; 2 Grandsons, Andrew Jacobson of Fairfax, VA, and Grant Jacobson of Camp LeJuene, NC; 2 Great Granddaughters, Abigail Jacobson and Olivia Jacobson; Brother, Dale (Jeanette) Quanbeck of McVille, ND; Sister Rona Emerson of Kenyon, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Donald.
Throughout her life, Donna, held to her deep faith in God, trusting in His grace and relying on Him for guidance. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and relatives.
The Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Free Lutheran Church, Binford, ND, on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 27 with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home in McVille, and for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the Willow Cemetery.
