Dorothy Cepak, age 99, resident of Aneta, ND, formerly of Lakota, ND, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center.
Dorothy May Kusba was born October 18, 1912 in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Frank and Kathryn Kusba. Dorothy's mother, Kathryn, died when Dorothy was 3 years old. Frank remarried to Jane Ellis. Frank died when Dorothy was 6 years old. Her stepmother, Jane, raised Dorothy and her two sisters, Jo and Idella. They lived in Sauk Center, MN, Warwick, and Brocket, ND. Dorothy married Edward Cepak on June 25, 1942 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lakota. They had two sons, John and Donald. Edward died July 14, 1988. Dorothy lived in Lakota until she moved to the Aneta Parkview Health Center in November of 1995. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society in Lakota, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary.
Dorothy is survived by her son, John Cepak of Grand Forks, ND; three grandchildren, Jeffery, Jennifer, and Jeanine; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Cepak of Spearfish, SD, and Alice Webstad of Lakota, ND.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn; father, Frank; stepmother, Jane; husband, Edward; son, Donald; and two sisters, Jo and Idella.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church of Lakota on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
