Dorothy Kleven

Dorothy L. Kleven, 87, of Aneta, ND died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND.

Dorothy was born July 18, 1926 in Aneta, ND the daughter of Dan and Lorenze (Gesvold) Hillesland. Dorothy graduated from Aneta High School in 1944. She then went to work at the Aneta Telephone office. Later she worked at the Aneta Good Samaritan Center. She married Dale Kleven on June 23, 1946. After her children were leaving home she started babysitting for area families. They became like her own grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Dale of Aneta, ND; 5 sons, John (Ginny) of Jamestown, ND, James of Aneta, ND, Jerry (Patty) of Grand Forks, ND, Jason (Ann) of Cando, ND and Jody of Aneta, ND, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Dolly Devlin of Michigan, ND and Shirley (Dave) McKenzie of Fargo, ND.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and infant son.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta, ND. Visitation will be Friday, November 29, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church and will continue one hour before services on Saturday. Interment will be in Silent Hill Cemetery, rural Aneta, ND. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Aneta Parkview Health Center.
