Dorothy R. Nickerson, age 71, resident of Lawton, ND, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Lakota, ND.
Dorothy Rae Martin was born November 24, 1940 in Chinook, MT, the daughter of Charles and Marjorie (Robinson) Martin. She was raised in Montana. Dorothy married Earl J. Nickerson on December 31, 1990. They met and fell in love at Rocksprings, WY, then moved to North Dakota where they enjoyed each day together.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Earl Nickerson of Lawton, ND; 3 daughters, Joan Newcomb and Jessica Mirzaakbari, both of Utah, and LuCinda Martin of Wisconsin; 1 son, Richard Martin of Utah; 3 brothers, Charles Martin of Libby, MT, Clifford Martin of Walnut Creek, CA, and Gary Martin of Mantica, CA; and 2 sisters, Margie Mohar of Montana and Joyce Hendrix of Pocatello, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Stella Good; 1 brother, John Martin; 1 son, Charles Martin; and 1 daughter, Janet Spelts.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Lawton Lutheran Church, Lawton, ND, on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Don Reynolds.
