Duane Dahl

Duane E. Dahl, age 88, resident of Cooperstown, ND passed away Tuesday morning, November 5, 2013 at his home in Cooperstown.

Duane was born on May 27, 1925 in Binford, ND, the first child born to Edwin and Carrie (Plummer) Dahl. He grew up on the family farm near Binford and attended rural school before graduating from Cooperstown High School in 1943. He married Violet Perchert on August 19, 1945 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown. The couple made their life together in the Cooperstown area and moved into town in 1960. Duane worked at various jobs including farming. Prior to his retirement in 1990 he spent 25 years with the State Highway Department.

Duane will be missed and remembered by his wife Violet of Cooperstown, ND, daughters Carol (Howard) Paulsen of Devils Lake, ND and Cory (Larry) Trautman of Jamestown, ND, 4 grandchildren Trevor (Chelle) Trautman of Phoenix, AZ, Robin Paulsen of Devils Lake, ND, Dawn (Marc) L'Heureux of Blanchard, OK and Tracy Entzi of West Fargo, ND, 7 great grandchildren Jarin & Carson Entzi of West Fargo, ND, Jenna Trautman of Phoenix, AZ, Seth & Skylan Belleau-Paulsen of Sudbury, Ontario and Ashlin & Cohen L'Heureux of Blanchard, OK, sisters Shirley Vasfaret of Cooperstown, ND and Lilias Bruns of Moorhead, MN, brother Darwin Dahl of West Fargo, ND, along with many nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one brother Dallas Dahl.

Memorial services for Duane will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Cooperstown, ND. Family and friends are invited to gather and share fellowship one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Binford Cemetery, Binford, ND. Arrangements with the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.
