Edgar F. Luehring

Edgar F. Luehring, 84, of Tolna, ND passed into his heavenly home on Saturday, August 27th 2016 at the Nelson County Health System Hospital in McVille, ND.

Edgar was born December 8, 1931 at the family farm near Bottineau, ND to Fred and Alma (Klipp) Luehring. Edgar received his grade school education at a country school near Bottineau. His family moved to Tolna, ND where he graduated high school in 1949. Edgar was an avid sportsman, playing basketball and baseball well into his amateur years.

Edgar married Jacqueline (Hanson) Luehring on Sept. 29th 1952 in Pekin Lutheran Church. Edgar and Jackie made their home in Aneta, ND where Eddy ran the Aneta Elevator for several years. They moved to Tolna for a short time, before making their final home on the Luehring Family Farm east of Tolna. Eddy raised cattle and turkeys, and grew small grains as well as corn and sunflowers. Eddy retired from farming, but continued to raise cattle, and up until just 5 years ago bordered cattle for other ranchers. He became his sons’ #1 gofer and helped with haying and baling. Edgar was a hard worker all his life, and was very involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He loved to hunt, and did a lot of hunting with his kids and grandkids, as well as trips to Canada and Idaho. He loved the game of baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Grandchildren: Amanda (Jeremy) Lee, Grand Forks, ND, Jennifer (Kevin) Watson, Minot, ND, Austin Luehring, Grand Forks, ND; Breun (Doug) Flaagan, Tolna, ND, Kalyn (Stacy) Luehring, Tolna, ND and Karsi Luehring, Mandan, ND; Nicole (Ross) Ford, Kelly (Jon) Mhyra and Rachel Johnson all of Bismarck, ND; Justin (Anna) Luehring, Jennifer (Bryant) Huso and Joshua Luehring of Tolna, ND; Brent (Emilee) Luehring of McVille, ND; Tyler Luehring of Tolna ND; Clay, Carleigh, Courtney and Cade Stein all of McVille, ND. Great grandchildren: Bridger Watson, Gage, Bailey, Rilee, and Trace Flaagan, Mya and Edyn Luehring, Sawyer, Lydia and Josie Huso, Cash and Lily Ford, Colt Luehring, Benjamin Luehring and Beckhem Luehring. Brother Howard (Marlene) of Tolna, ND and sister-in-law Connie Flaagan of Fargo, ND. Many neices and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie, parents Fred and Alma, step mother Emma, and siblings: Gladys, Mildred, Alice, Harvey, Willard and Wayne.
