Elaine "Dodie" Sandbeck

Elaine "Dodie" Sandbeck, age 85, resident of Aneta, ND died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta.

Dodie was born July 8, 1930 in Northwood, ND the daughter of Melvin and Helma (Sundre) Grina. She grew up and was educated in Northwood, graduating Northwood High School in 1948. After graduation Dodie worked at the Johnson Store in Northwood. On July 7, 1952 she married Peter Sandbeck. After their marriage Dodie worked at the Johnson Store in Aneta. In 1966 she started working as a bookkeeper for Farmers Union Oil in Aneta. She retired in 1989. Dodie was a member of Sundahl Lutheran Church, a volunteer at Aneta Parkview Health Center and volunteer of the year with Peter in 1994.

Dodie is survived by her sister Mildred McKenzie, Beulah, ND, brother Marven (Beryl) Grina, Grand Rapids, MN, nieces Vickie (Rodney) Helm, Park Rapids, MN, Mary Jo (Kent) Larson, Beulah, ND, Leslie (Larry) Babb, MN, nephews Scott (Patti) McKenzie, Missoula, MT, Dana (Ronnie) Grina, Great Falls, MT, Todd (Lisa) Grina, Hutchinson, MN, Mark (Gail) Grina, Lino Lakes, MN, along with Peter’s nieces and nephews.

Dodie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Pete in 2012, brother-in-law H.R. “Mac” McKenzie, along with Peter’s siblings Lawrence and his wife Esther, Orris, and Pearl Hamre and her husband Olaf.

A special thanks to the staff of Aneta Parkview for the loving care they have given Dodie and Pete while they were residents of their home.

Funeral services for Dodie will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Silent Hill Cemetery, Aneta, ND.
