Eleanor K. Olson

Eleanor K. Olson, age 91, resident of Aneta, North Dakota died on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center.

Eleanor Kathleen Kragtorp was born on July 27, 1924, in McVille, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Charlotte (Olsgaard) Kragtorp. She grew up and was educated in Field Township. Eleanor married Alfred Olson on October 18, 1944 at rural Aneta, ND. From their marriage, they had four children. They lived and farmed by the Sheyenne River in Griggs County until moving into Aneta in 1981. Alfred passed away on September 29, 1999.

Eleanor worked very hard as a farm wife and homemaker. She was a great cook and was active at the Sundahl Lutheran Church and was in WELCA for many years.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Cheryl (Don) Sherwood, Kennewick, WA, Ginger (Lloyd) Lee, Tolna, ND, Ardell (Tina) Olson, Cooperstown, ND, Corey Olson, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren and honorary bearers, Donald (Breanna) Sherwood, Danielle Culbertson, Candice Blumhardt, Chelsey (Chris) Pierce, Andrea Olson, Adria (Jason) Smith, Erika (Josh) Gruenberg, Cruz Olson, and Jordan Olson; great grandchildren, Colton, Ehren, Tristen, Kyan, Brycen, Chiara, Beckett, Remy, Jacob, and Kale; sister-in-law, Darlene Kragtorp; and several nieces and nephews.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 3 sisters, Margaret Braniff, Georgine Reinhart, and baby sister; and 3 brothers, Alvin, Jarl, and Ernest Kragtorp.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July, 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Sundahl Lutheran Church, Aneta, North Dakota. A visitation will be held Sunday at the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home in McVille from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Norway Cemetery, rural McVille.
