Elizabeth A. Berthold

Elizabeth A. Berthold, 88, of McVille, ND died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, ND.

Elizabeth was born April 14, 1927 in the state of Michigan. Elizabeth married Joe Berthold January 25, 1949 at Montague, MI. After their marriage they lived in Arvilla, ND until moving to McVille in 1951. The couple operated Joe’s Bar in McVille for many years. Elizabeth also worked in housekeeping and food preparation at the McVille Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the McVille American Legion Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aneta, ND. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, and visiting with family and friends.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Kathy Aaser of McVille, ND, Fran (Ole) Nord of Churchs Ferry, ND, Ted (Janice) Berthold of Grand Forks, ND, Jeff Berthold of Grand Forks, ND, Jennifer (Elwood) Larson of McVille, ND, Michele (Jim) Kapitzke of Andover, MN, and Joe Berthold of Jamestown, ND; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Berthold, and an infant son.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home, McVille, ND. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Aneta, ND.
