Ernest H. Eberhardt, age 92, resident of Aneta, ND passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Ernest was born March 31, 1920 in rural Aneta the son of Otto and Annie (Hillesland) Eberhardt. He grew up and attended country school. On November 20, 1947 he married Verlan Hoggarth. Ernest worked for area farmers and on his own hobby farm near Aneta. Throughout the years he also worked as a local carpenter, at Wilrich Manufacturing in McVille, ND and for the city of Aneta.
Surviving members of the family include his children; Arlys (Craig) Bye of Mayville, ND, Linda (Al) Sorensen of Pillsbury, ND, Miles (Pam) Eberhardt of Buxton, ND, Rollin (Lynette) Eberhardt of Hillsboro, ND, Marvin (Tracy) Eberhardt of Aneta, ND and Jadene Higdem of Portland, ND; 16 grandchildren, Terri Taylor, Brent Sjokvist, Nicholas, Adam & Darrin Eberhardt, Mindi Mehus, Chad Sorensen, Corrina Jorgenson, Natassaja & Kollin Eberhardt, Travis Eberhardt, Jennifer & Brooke Higdem, Kayla Jacobson, Derek & Ethan Rothecker; 15 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; brothers, Cleo Eberhardt and Don (Myrtle) Eberhardt, both Aneta, ND; sisters, Evelyn Smallbeck, Aneta, ND and Annabelle Johnson, Cooperstown, ND; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Dallas, brother Robert and sisters, Ina Eberhardt and Marion Edwardson.
Funeral services for Ernest will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:00PM in the Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta, ND. Officiating will be Reverend Kenneth Iverson. Special music will be performed by Cassandra Fowler and Allen Rusten. Organist will be Judy Rusten. Casketbearers will be Brent Sjokvist, Travis Eberhardt, Chad Sorensen, Nicholas Eberhardt, Darrin Eberhardt, Adam Eberhardt & Kollin Eberhardt. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 4PM to 7PM with a 7PM prayer service in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel, Cooperstown, ND. Interment will be in the Ottawa Church Cemetery.
