Ervin I. Anderson, age 86, resident of Lakota, ND, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his home in Lakota.
Ervin Ingolf Anderson was born September 16, 1925 at Mapes, ND, the son of Axel and Thora (Erickson) Anderson. He attended country schools in the Williams Township area. Ervin married Lydia Sitar on January 19, 1945 in Michigan, ND. They lived and farmed south of Mapes until 1952. It was then that they lived in Everett and Tacoma, WA. In 1960 they moved back to North Dakota and purchased their own farm south of Mapes. They farmed there until 1982 when they moved to Lakota where he was working as Lakota City Superintendent until he retired in 1986. He continue to live in Lakota and was the community lawn keeper. He was a man with a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed it. He also kept the family farm neatly groomed and a beautiful garden. Lydia died March 19, 2010.
Ervin will be deeply missed by his sons, Dwayne (Chloe) Anderson of Sheridan, WY, Dennis (Patricia) Anderson of Naperville, IL, and Larry (Tami) Anderson of Lakota; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Marlow Anderson of Thompson , ND ; a daughter-in-law, Debby Anderson of Lakota; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Jim Anderson; his daughter, Barb Westensee; 4 sisters, Edna Foley, June Elgin, Mary Ludke, and Edith Myrtle Anderson; and 4 brothers, Lloyd, Kenneth, Leland, and Jerry.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Michigan Civic Center in Michigan, ND, on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the spring at the Lakota Cemetery.
