Esther S. Knutson

Esther Sylvia "Sybby" Mustad Knutson, age 82, was born January 8, 1933, in Finley, ND at the family home, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September, 22, 2015 at Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, ND. She married Odin Jerome Knutson on March 9, 1952, at Finley Lutheran Church and were married 57 years. Esther was the youngest of twelve children.

Survivors include: sister, Gertrude "Trudy" (Harlan) Gilbertson of Bemidji, MN; daughter, Nancy Rae Knutson of Valley City, ND and son, Michael Odin Knutson of Houston, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Bertina Mustad, siblings: Martha (Hogan) Fossen, Laura (Raymond) Madsen, Bob (Marlys) Mustad, Alma (Selmer) Bolstad, Bertha (Robert) Mossman, Ruth (Victor) Turner, Julia (David) Berman, Connie (Donald) Oxton, Margaret Mustad and Gilbert (Nan) Mustad.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church, rural Finley, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Interment will be in the Sheyenne Valley Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, any donations may be directed to Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church.
