Esther G. Schuh

Esther G. Schuh, age 92, resident of Lakota, ND, died on her birthday, Friday, February 5, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND.
Esther Georgia Horysh was born February 5, 1924 the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia “Cella” (Kalash) Horysh in rural Lankin, ND. She received her education through rural schools and graduated from Lakota High School in 1942. Esther worked at Barrett’s Hardware store in Lakota and taught at Keisacker rural school. Esther married Paul E. Schuh on May 20, 1944 and they farmed until his death in 1980.
Esther will be deeply missed by her children, Janice of Grand Forks, ND, Ray (Sandi) of Lakota, ND, and Dr. Marlys of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Kara (Matt) Schuh-Koski of Lakota, ND, Lindsey (Edgardo) Schuh-Cortes of Springfield, VA, and Paul R. (fiancAC.e Alyscia Eisen) Schuh of Vienna, VA; great grandchildren, Matthew R. and Eric L. Koski of Lakota, and Omar Cortes of Springfield, VA; and brother-in-law, Lyle Dykhoff of Devils Lake, ND.
Esther is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Marion Dykhoff; and nephew, Gary Dykhoff.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church of Lakota on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at the church. Interment will be in the spring at the Lakota Cemetery.
