Eugene L. Reep

Eugene L. Reep, age 77, of Michigan, ND died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Gene was born April 1, 1939 in Michigan, ND the son of Syver Reep and Clara (Paulson) Kallestad. He attended school at Williams Township and Michigan, graduating in 1958. After high school he enlisted into the Army in 1959. Gene served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1965. He worked for Boeing for 9 years as a machinist. He married Janice Glover on November 10, 1962. They had five beautiful children. They moved to North Dakota in 1970 where he worked carpentry. On July 5, 1984 he married June Lewis. On November 23, 2009 June passed away. Gene enjoyed gardening, hunting and being a caregiver for his friends. Gene loved his children and grandchildren and was always very proud of them. He was always accompanied with Sputnik at his side.

Gene is survived by his 5 children; Curtis Reep of Renton, WA, J’Anna (Dean) Willprecht of Milnor, ND, Julie (Reed) Daws of Larimore, ND, David (Kristy) Reep of Fargo, ND and Debra (Jason) Sorlien of Lakota, ND, his 4 step children; Roderick (Juanita) Lewis of San Antonio, TX, Brian (Kristi) Lewis of Rockwall, TX, Barry (Heidi) Lewis of Finley, ND and Rita Feltman of Drayton, ND. 10 grandchildren; Travis (Katie), Brittani, Brandi, Dylan, Brooke (Dylan), Jack, Ivy, Ellie, Graham and Kyle. 4 great grandchildren; Noah, Leah, Willow, and Milo. His siblings; Wayne (Marilyn) Reep, Marian Hendrickson, Sylvia Brichnac, and John Kallestad, along with many nieces, nephews and his dog sputnik.

Gene is preceded in death by his wife, June; parents; 2 brothers, Richard (Dicky), and James; 1 sister, Sandra; 2 brothers-in-law, Vernon Hendrickson and James Brichnac.

Funeral services for Eugene will be held Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm at Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, ND. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at Michigan Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Michigan Cemetery, Michigan, ND.
