Evelyn E. Hanson

Evelyn Elizabeth Hanson, age 87, resident of Aneta, ND, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her home.

Evelyn was born April 21, 1929 the daughter of Alexander and Agnes (Hunter) Murdock. She was baptized at Plainsview School. She attended country school near Whitewater where she rode her horse to school on numerous occasions. Evelyn graduated from Malta High School in 1947. After finishing college at Northern Montana in Havre, MT she taught at Sunny Slope Country School. Later, she returned to the family ranch to help her dad. Lyle swept her off her feet and they were married on June 29, 1957 in Malta, MT before moving to Field Township in North Dakota. Evelyn was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and taught Sunday School. She worked at the McVille Hardware Store and Agvise Laboratories in Northwood. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, sewing, needle point and cards. Cards were one of her favorite, especially when with her grandchildren.

Evelyn will be deeply missed by her 4 children and 8 grandchildren, Cynthia Hanson, Lee & his wife Penny Hanson and their children Jace & Brynn, Lori & her husband Curt Haugen and their children Alissa, Kallie, Emily & Macy, Joni Hanson and her children Travis & Mikayla; 4 siblings, Marjorie Olsen, Kathleen Simonson, James (Pat) Murdock and William Murdock; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, rural Kloten, ND on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a family service at 7:00 p.m. in the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Our Saviors Church Cemetery. Arrangements with the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home of McVille, ND.
