Gary M. Brueckner

Gary Martin Brueckner, age 56, of Niagara, ND, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Gary was born September 19, 1959 in Grand Forks. His parents brought him to Holy Baptism according to Gods promise on October 4, 1959 and he confirmed his Christian Faith on April 15, 1973. He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Niagara. Gary attended and graduated from school at Petersburg, ND in 1977. He went on to attend East Grand Forks Technical College.
Gary married Cathy Haugen (Kate, as Gary liked to call her) on October 20, 1979 in Michigan, ND. They lived on the family farmstead north of Niagara. Together they farmed, raised their 2 sons, and ran a dairy operation.
Gary loved spending time with his wife, sons, and grandkids. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, car racing, and annual vacations to a warmer climate with his wife.
Gary will be greatly missed by his wife, Cathy, of 36 years; sons, Tanner (Amber) and Cody (special friend, Judy); 2 grandchildren, Jack and Hannah; mother, Bernice of Niagara; sisters, Sandy (Bob) Peterson of Grand Forks, ND, Vicki (Larry) Landeis of Petersburg, ND, and Linda (Dan) Skelly of Arvilla, ND; mother-in-law, Dorothy Haugen of Lakota, ND; sisters-in-law, Dawn (Robert) Godwin of West Yellowstone, MT and Holly (Kevin) Rothwell of Denver, CO; brother-in-law, Mike (Elaine) Haugen of Michigan, ND; sister-in-law, Paulette Haugen of McVille, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Martin Brueckner; father-in-law, Alvin Haugen; and brother-in-law, Jay Haugen.
The Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Niagara, ND, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the St. Andrew Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
