Geneva Haugen

It was a sad day for all of us who were with her, but Geneva kept up her spirits for all of us. She was still our mother until her last breath. Geneva always told us she had a full life and she was ready whenever God needed her.

Geneva Mae Rogness was born February 11, 1942 at McVille, ND, the daughter of William and Bernice (Ensrud) Rogness. She was raised on her parent's farm near Pekin, ND. Geneva worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Lakota for 31 years, along with operating a daycare for the past 30 years. Geneva loved living her life in Lakota. Her friends are too numerous to mention. She cherished everyone in the community and wanted everyone to know how much all of her friends meant to her. We all wish we could have had her with us longer, but she will always be with us with great memories!!

Geneva is survived by her 4 children, Lori (Dennis) Dahl of Grand Forks, ND, Lynndell (Michelle) Haugen of Fargo, ND, Jodi Haugen of Lake Worth, FL, and Jamie (Cheri) Haugen of Moorhead, MN; 3 granddaughters, Alissa (Matt) Gilbertson, Abbey Dahl, and Callie Haugen; 1 brother, Willis (Helen) Rogness and 1 sister, Carol Mertz, both in Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her brother, LuVerne, and a brother in infancy.

The Funeral Service for Geneva will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church of Lakota, ND, on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Russell Pollock. The organist will be Karen Fowler. Interment will be in the spring at the Pekin Cemetery . The family considers all of Geneva 's friends to be honorary casketbearers. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
