Irving T. Naas

Irving T. Naas, age 95, resident of McVille, ND, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the NCHS Care Center in McVille.

Irving Therald Naas was born October 19, 1921 in Lee Township, ND, the son of Tom and Agnes (Drengson) Naas. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member. He attended Kloten Public School. Irving married Alaine Hanson on March 12, 1943 in McVille, ND. They made their home near Kloten and moved from the farm to McVille in 1980. Irving was a lifelong farmer, raising small grains, sunflowers, soybeans, and dairy cattle. Irving continued to work and help on the farm until age 89.

Irving was a 4-H leader, served on the church council, and the Lee Township Board. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and traveling, especially to Texas with his siblings. Irving was an avid spectator at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed watching the Kloten Tigers, the McVille Blackhawks, the NDSU Bison, and the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Irving will be deeply missed by his 3 children, Barbara (Rodney) Adrian of Omaha, NE, Michael (ReJean) Naas of Fargo, ND, and Virginia (Craig) Mueller of Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren, Scott, Julie, Jennifer, Marcie, Brian, Jana, Dane, and Beth; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 2 sisters, Ieleen Naas and Avis VanWechel; brother Tracy Naas; and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, Lester Naas, and sister Irene.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, rural Kloten, ND. Visitation will be Sunday starting at 5:00 p.m with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Our Saviors Lutheran Church Cemetery.
