Janice "Ma" Marie Dares
June 27, 1936 — March 3, 2021
Janice “Ma” Marie Dares, age 84, of McVille, ND went home to Jesus on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
Janice was born June 27, 1936 the daughter of Williams and Ivabelle (Gibbs) Grant. On March 14, 1969 she married James “Pops” Dares in Minneapolis, MN. Together they made their life in Minneapolis, MN raising their six children there. In 2004 they moved to McVille, ND. Janice enjoyed crafting and watching the Minnesota Vikings.
Janice leaves family to cherish her memory which include her sons; Jeff Ketterl, James (Jackie) Dares, Jon Dares, her daughters; Jennie Ketterl-Gardner and Jill Pierce, grandchildren; Douglas Ketterl, Katherine Dares, Charlie Dares, Annabelle Ketterl, Wally Ketterl, Jessie Elmberg, Tinisha Elmberg, Loretta Elmberg, DeVonna Sam, Alex Nelson, 17 great grandchildren and her cat Sarah. Ma was loved and will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, siblings and her son Jimmy.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home in McVille.
The larger Celebration of Life for Janice will be held on June 26, 2021 at the McVille Dam.
